What is propane?
Propane is a gas that is compressed and stored as a liquid in tanks. It is mostly used as a clean energy source for space heating, water heating, cooking, and engine fuel. Today new technological developments are increasing the applications of propane across the U.S.A.
- Propane is non-toxic and colorless
- Propane is sometimes referred to as Liquid Petroleum Gas or LPG
- Propane, when used as fuel for trucks and cars, is referred to as Propane Autogas
What are the benefits of propane energy?
Affordable- Propane prices compared to gasoline, diesel fuel, and home heating oil are much more affordable to the average person and businesses.
Cleaner- Propane is a cleaner-burning, lower-carbon fuel than other petroleum-based products such as gasoline or diesel because it burns hotter and more efficiently.
American Made– 90% of the United States propane supply is created domestically, making it a readily available, american-made energy.
Safe- After a study conducted by the NPGA it was found only 1 in 37 million people have been seriously harmed in an accident involving propane. This means the likely-hood of being in a propane accident is .0000027 %, proving that propane is an extremely safe fuel source.
Reliable- Propane gas doesn’t come with the risk of power outages. If the lights go out you can feel confident knowing your propane run appliances will always be operational with gas in the tank.
Where does propane come from?
Simply put propane comes from natural gas processing and crude oil refinement as a byproduct. It is then stored underground and sent through pipelines across the United States to pipeline terminals. Transport trucks fill up at the terminals and deliver propane to companies like E.P. Wine. Once the propane makes it to us, our delivery trucks are sent out on routes to supply our family of customers with clean propane energy.
